Athletics & Communication

LSU Women’s Basketball | National Champions

As the primary student for LSU women’s basketball, I managed in-game social media for the team. Throughout the team’s momentous season, my efforts were to curate a social media feed that engaged and excited fans and followers. During the four-hour period spanning the National Championship game and the ceremony after, I posted to Instagram and Twitter to engage with LSU fans, college basketball spectators and overall sport enthusiasts. Prior to the championship game, @LSUWBKB had 75k followers on Instagram and 50.4k on Twitter. By the end of my posting period, Instagram and escalated to 115k and Twitter to 61.9k. As a student, the opportunity to run these accounts in a high-stake environment where it felt like everyone in the country had their eyes on the account was life changing.

LSU Men’s Tennis

Social Media

For the 2022-2023 season, I served as the Sport Information Director for LSU men’s tennis. In this position, I managed all social media platforms for the team. I utilized Twitter and Instagram to rebrand the team and establish their presence in the community after a lack of attention in previous years. I grew the followers on Instagram by 1,004 and on Twitter by 215 followers respectively. Due to the smaller nature of the account, my goals were to build a gradual following of LSU tennis fans to boost engagement.

Press Releases

As the Sport Information Director for men’s tennis, I had the opportunity to write regular press releases for the team. These releases are published on the athletic department website at LSUSports.net and are emailed out to a contact list of 32 reporters in the Baton Rouge area.

Feature Article

As a student with the LSU Athletic Communications Department, I was awarded the opportunity to interview LSU Track and Field Legend Peta-Gaye Dowdie on her upcoming induction to the LSU Athletic Hall of Fame. My feature story was one of 10 and was shared by LSU via LSUSports.net, press release, and program at the event to promote the induction to relevant parties and news outlets and highlight Dowdie’s successful career at LSU.

LSU Softball

In-Game Social Media

As a student with LSU Athletic Communications, I managed in-game social media for LSU softball during the 2022 season. During games I posted updates and highlights to LSUSoftball on Twitter. My goal as a countributor was to update LSU softball fans on the game and to highlight our players to engage with LSU supporters and softball fans.

LSU Student

Public Relations Student Society of America | PRSSA

PRSSA Newsletter

During the 2021-2022 school year, I served as the public relations director for the Public Relations Student Society of America on LSU’s campus. During this time, I curated a newsletter that was emailed to student members of the organization in order to promote upcoming events. I served as the creative head and author of the newsletter.

Alpha Delta Pi

Sisterhood Video | Instagram Story Graphics | Instagram Post Graphics

As the director of public relations for Alpha Delta Pi | Omega Chapter for the 2021-22 year, I had the opportunity to creatively direct and edit a video for my sorority’s sisterhood round of recruitment. This video was shown to approximately 700 young women interested in joining our sorority with the hopes of sharing how much our sisterhood meant to us. In addition to being shown during recruitment events, the video was also posted to social media.

With this position, I managed the @LSUADPi Instagram and created graphics to post on our Instagram story to highlight our members. This included graphics for Sister of the Week, Hey, Hey, I Got An A, and We Live For Each Other Wednesday. With these graphics, I had full creative control to highlight our sisters however I felt best. These postings were meant to share with our members, others in panhellenic and future members how our sisterhood was thriving during the year.

Interviews

Red Carpet & One on One Entertainment

For over a decade, I enjoyed interviewing industry professionals such as athletes, actors, producers, authors, fashion designers, make-up artists, songwriters, and singers – sharing their stories to encourage and inspire others. This experience provided me the opportunity of both one on one interviews as well as fast paced red carpet interviews. I worked first hand with publicists and agents, sometimes only having seconds to prepare to speak with someone. The AUGEgirl Network is my YouTube channel I started at the age of 10! AUGE stands for All U Got Everyday.
